Job Description:

As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and providing care for clients in their homes.
  • Assisting with household cleaning, maintenance, and laundry.
  • Collaborating with managers to implement behavior plans.
  • Creating a respectful, supportive, and caring environment for clients.
  • Organizing work tasks according to client needs and assignments.
  • Providing personal care such as assisting with mobility, meal preparation, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintaining accountability by adhering to program guidelines and reporting changes in client conditions.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of client progress while maintaining confidentiality. Maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience in direct client support, meal preparation, personal care, housekeeping, and laundry services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity to diverse cultures.
  • Education and/or experience working with individuals dealing with mental health issues, anxiety, depression, and behavioral/emotional challenges.
  • Ability to travel between assignments in the community area, adapt to scheduling changes on short notice.
  • First Aid/C.P.R. and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Recent experience working with the elderly and/or physically disabled individuals is an asset. Ability to work independently in a community setting and function as a team member.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be exposed to physical and emotional stress.
  • Must be physically fit.
  • Capable of transferring clients using proper techniques. May be required to work in various community locations. Additional Requirements:
  • This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
